Timely access to therapy is crucial for improving health outcomes. However, most healthcare providers struggle with inefficient systems that significantly slow them down. They often have to navigate multiple platforms, branded portals, and duplicative data entry just to secure necessary medications for their patients. These delays and frustrations are so pervasive that nearly 80% of providers avoid prescribing certain treatments. When the process of prescribing and navigating access hurdles is especially difficult, providers tend to avoid those treatments in the future to save time and effort.
In a recent article for Drug Channels, Shabbir Ahmed, Chief Commercial Officer at CareMetx, discusses how manufacturers can transition away from branded portals toward a more streamlined, user-friendly approach. By integrating patient enrollment, benefit verification, and prior authorizations directly into the provider’s electronic medical record (EMR) system, CareMetx allows data to flow seamlessly from the system itself, significantly reducing the steps required to initiate therapy.
Additionally, Ahmed explains how manufacturers can reach specialty patient populations by leveraging CareMetx’s expansive network of connected providers across diverse therapeutic areas.
