At this year’s Asembia summit, CareMetx Chief Strategy Officer Greg Morris joined a live recording of the Syneos Health podcast Navigating Modern Market Access alongside hosts Michael Sarshad and Kim Plesnarski. Together, they tackled one of the hottest topics in the industry: how manufacturers can modernize their patient services strategy to keep up with market complexity and tech evolution.
From AI-powered customization to the rise of hybrid hub models, the conversation explored what’s working, what’s not, and what the future demands. As Greg put it, “Innovation is something you need to plan how to do” - and manufacturers that don’t have a roadmap for both integration and scale are falling behind.
Kim emphasized the importance of staying current in a fast-moving landscape: “Unless you have an innovative model to keep bringing in fresh ideas and people, your tech gets stale, and so does your talent. Your peers who partner selectively, or outsource entirely, are always going to be on the latest and greatest.”
Greg noted a shift away from rigid, centralized service models and toward more connected, agile approaches. That means unbundled tech, smarter middleware, and a strategy to get services into provider workflows, not just into a call center script. He also highlighted the value of choosing the right partners to drive innovation at speed, noting that too many manufacturers are stuck maintaining fragile tech stacks they shouldn’t have built in the first place.
