This large independent charitable foundation partnered with CareMetx to better understand whether patients entering foundation-supported pathways may have had existing medical or pharmacy coverage that had not been identified during the access process.
Using insurance discovery capabilities and real-time connections across payer and pharmacy benefit data sources, CareMetx screened approximately 5,000 foundation patients and identified active insurance policies for 30% of the population. The findings gave the foundation a clearer picture of patients’ available funding options and actionable eligibility information to support benefit verification, follow-up, and more appropriate patient routing, helping finite foundation resources remain focused on patients who genuinely have nowhere else to turn.
