In 1984 just out of college, Mark joined the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and by 1989 was appointed Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. He was instrumental in the creation of the CF-focused specialty pharmacy and was a forceful advocate for patients and defender of innovation in biotech. In 1996, he co-founded TheraCom, Inc., as a specialty pharmacy serving patients with rare diseases. Within five years, TheraCom revenues approached $100 million and it was acquired by AdvancePCS. Mark continued to lead the company until the 2004 purchase of AdvancePCS by Caremark, Inc. and in 2011 the company became a division of AmerisourceBergen Consulting Services.
In 2004, Mark co-founded Bethesda Partners, LLC. With Bethesda Partners, Mark founded, advised, consulted or managed a range of health care and medical technology companies. In 2011, he co-founded CareMetx, LLC.
